Take a ‘selfie’

When students are proud of their work they request that a ‘selfie’ is taken so that it can get published online! Work is not over-corrected as normally we would be focusing on a specific target and that would be the area that they may get prompts about. They are encouraged to take pride in their work so that their work can be published. This helps to motivate students to improve on the presentation of their work.

Spelling ‘ea’ and ‘ow’ words

C was revising his spellings of ‘ea’ and ‘ow’ words. He practised the spellings, thinking about if the word had an ‘ea’ sound or an ‘ow’ sound. He was encouraged to think about all the sounds in the word and say each sound as he wrote the word.
